Meals (Not Quite) Ready To Eat

No mixer? No cake pans? NO PROBLEM!

Who the hell am I?

Some of you have probably come here from my hockey blog, so you know what you’re in for.

I’m a hockey nut in Raleigh, NC. I live and die by the Carolina Hurricanes, and I love to (try to) cook. My problem? Equipment. I have no blender. I don’t even have a mixer. I have a toaster, a busted microwave, a set of pots and pans, a couple knives, and lots and lots of canned goods. But no fresh ingredients–the canned stuff I have plenty of already.

I also have a husband who wilts like a spinach leaf at the thought of eating “fresh” food and whose idea of haute cuisine is Tuna Helper with a can of corn tossed in for a little texture. So you can imagine how hard it is for me to make something decent (or, for that matter, to get the makings for same).

This blog is where I rap about stuff that I try to make (complete with some rather bad photos taken with a decrepit Olympus D-360L camera under bad lighting (when I remember to take them)), restaurants that I go to, and unique food things that I try for the first time.

It’s also where I rap about my never-ending quest to acquire a KitchenAid stand mixer and other items on My Yule Wish List.

Guten Appetit.
